Outdoor Showers

What it takes

Hot water, and somewhere for it to go.

An outdoor shower is a small job that goes wrong in predictable ways: no hot water run, drainage that undermines the slab, timber that rots in two seasons.

We plumb both feeds properly, drain it where it will not cause a problem, and finish it in something that expects to be wet.

Scope

What we take on.

Poolside showers

Placed so people rinse before the pool rather than tracking through the house.

Private backyard shower units

Screened properly, with the enclosure detailed for privacy and airflow.

Wall-mounted rinse stations

The simple version, done so the wall behind it stays sound.

Timber enclosures and deck platforms

Slatted platforms and screens in species that handle constant wet.

Drainage and soakaways

Taken away from footings and paving rather than left to find its own way.

Hot water supply

Run from the house or a local heater, insulated and drainable.

Common Questions

The things people ask us first.

Do I need a permit?
Usually for the plumbing. We check and file it as part of the job.
Can it be used year round?
In most of Los Angeles, yes, with hot water run to it. We will size the supply for that.
What about winter?
We put in a drain-down so nothing sits in the pipe if you stop using it.
